1. One great tip which someone told is that when he feels hungry, he just tells himself, "When I feel hungry and don't eat, then I'm burning fat for energy, so feeling hungry is a good thing".

2. Do not skip eating for a day, a half-day fast is fine, but if prolonged, then your body will slow down its metabolism to conserve energy because it doesn't know if it's going to starve or just be on a diet.

3. Make a list of items which are your guilty pleasures, and then each day try to eat them less and less. So you're not saying I can't eat that, but rather you're saying it's saving it to be eaten as a treat, since it really isn't nutritious food anyway, just a palatable treat.

4. Use a cloth tape measure to measure your waist circumference. Stop using the scale. When your waist size gets to the measurement you want, and clothes fit and look the way you want, then weigh yourself as that would probably be your ideal weight.
